I played around with a number of others, but never really used them much.

I like the one with the nice bush.

You don’t actually have to maximise your windows, you can just set them to your favourite ratio.

I saw this briefly making an appearance in France a couple years ago, but it seems to have been disabled on most POS terminals nowadays. I guess nobody liked it.

I mentioned that one because it’s been at it since way before the Internet and is now well known even beyond France for the extremely eclectic and high quality selection it plays. FIP originally stands for France Inter Paris, it was meant as a music only station with only very short interruptions with soothing voices for news and traffic. The women with those particular tones of voice became known as the fipettes, and got some kind of faceless celebrity as a result. It used to be a standard setting on every car radio before there were a bazillion ststions (and CDs, and streaming).

ICE uses Dell.

Windows supports something other than BMP?

The problem with these, and all, automated systems that detect EVERYTHING is that current code enforcement hardly detects 0.1% of existing violations, by design.

True, but once it’s automated, it can easily be archived for future reference. Then it’s in your file for who knows what future use.

Straight to jail!

A very large portion of Microsoft’s efforts are dedicated to this. If they redirected just a bit of their work force to fixing their products, maybe people would actually want to use them, instead of being forced to.

The only real reason to use a BSD is if you use a dedicated system for something like serving files, or some embedded stuff that requires to poke at its innards. As a general purpose machine, it’s way, way more limited than Linux. You’ll find yourself very constrained by the hardware and some of the software support. But there are lots of nifty toys, so if you have a spare machine and want to play with it, by all means, it’s certainly worth your time.

It was broken in many subtle ways even before snaps. Version updates were always a bit of a gamble and the whole thing was never as solid as properly managed distributions like the industrial ones such as SuSE or RH (or the properly managed ones that followed).
