Bag on it all you want, but that man has 6 kids which is probably 6 more than most adults on this site. As long as he isn’t a complete scumbag he will likely he will pass most of his views and questionable morals to his kids.

Normally you have a chance to deprogram these kids through higher education but Republicans have recognized this and are trying their hardest to sabotage higher Ed.

  • No they will never say it.

When the disaster that was the W. Bush Presidency ended I had coworkers who had pictures of Bush on their office wall for 8 years like he was their Dear Leader and it was fucking North Korea, claim they never supported him and they were really Libertarians.

They will never admit they were wrong. They will just get angry and attack whatever policy or solution the other party brings to the table.

  • The AI bubble is starting to pop. All of these companies have made hardware and data center investments far beyond what is needed or can be sustained. The debt is piling up and they are scrambling to justify the immense build out. Musk allowing porn and CSAM on Grock for paid users , Chat GPT pushing commercials, Microslop putting copilot in everything and forcing adoption. Oracles server utilization remains low, Etc. etc.

They now need to show immense growth and adoption in order to keep getting loans or justify burning cash to their shareholders.

Chat GPT and Oracle will be the first to fall, then xAI etc. Google and Microslop have other revenue sources that can weather the storm. But they won’t continue their massive investments.

  • I agree, the problem is you have to consume at some level you need food water clothes etc. and for poorer people 100% of their income goes to just buying the basics. You also don’t want to put other citizens out of jobs because of a boycott, that would get unpopular quickly.

For this to work long term you need to get the top 10% or 20% of consumers to cut back on the extras. I.E. Amazon Prime, Netflix, Chat GPT subscriptions, hold off buying an iPhone or electronics, etc.

If you did that and caused consumption to dip even 5% you would hurt the companies that the oligarchs run and in turn hurt Trump.

  • Ramp it up!

The worst crime you can commit under capitalism is not participating, not buying, not renting, etc. These tech companies are built on debt that is serviced by profits.

Moving the needle down and impacting their income by even 5% will have a huge impact on a business’s bottom line and in turn a CEO’s income, bonuses and stock options etc.

If you want to make Trump and his regime change then you have to hit the only people he will listen to… his fellow oligarchs.

  • I’ve heard that special forces practice aiming for the pelvis as many of the U.S.A.’s adversaries use body armor.

The goal is to dump rounds into the pelvic bone until it breaks. Which will incapacitate their opponents and cause them to bleed out very carefully.

Did you know you are legally allowed to buy “green tip” 223 ammo. It’s the same ammo the military uses and can penetrate up to Level IV body armor.

  • It depends on the customer. Microsoft, Google, Amazon all have the revenue to carry the debts they are taking on. Oracle, Chat GPT, Musk and others are waay more sketchy.

The build out is going to take billions of dollars and these companies aren’t going to see a return for at least 5 years or more. The majors can carry that kind of debt load long term even if AI doesn’t pan out. Other businesses will struggle or go under if AI doesn’t bring the returns.

The next major movers will be companies that do a lot of IT business consulting like IBM. They are going to be busy helping non IT focused firms incorporate AI into their business model.

Finally if all these data centers pan out and the US keeps oscillating between shunning Renewables or Fossil fuels every time a new party comes to office we are going to have major problems with our energy infrastructure. Think energy bills as high as your mortgage within the next 5 years. Invest in utilities or energy companies and try to put solar and some kind of storage on your home.

  • Sounds like because you don’t use those devices regularly they don’t get a chance to download updates. When you finally do turn them on after long periods being off they have a lot of downloads to do and your password has expired (My Xbox can be very frustrating when it comes to passwords)… PCs will perform the same way in the same circumstances.

But consoles do update and start working after a password reset, fewer choices and a curated environment means the non technically oriented like the rest of my family can get it up and running without bugging me.

Consoles are probably just not your cup of tea and that’s ok! 👍

  • 100% This, I work in IT all day. The last thing I want to do with my personal time is build and support a home built machine attached to my TV that my kids or wife will use to watch Netflix or play a few games. Especially if I am out of town and something stops working.

That’s why I own a PlayStation and pay a premium for their games on an inferior platform compared to PC. It generally just works with out me having to fuck with it all the time. I’d get a Steam box for the same reason.
