  • One of the ways the liberal dems seem to always seem to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, is to overestimate the effect of cultural issues on the decision of an average American voter.

America would elect a 6’4” 350 lbs bald trans female if they were treated to a yearly luxury overseas vacation, cheap gas prices, a steady supply of Amazon appliances and the ability to regularly eat huge portions at restaurants several times a week. Bonus points if the trans candidate champions Jesus worship and prosperity gospel.

The average American only cares about the price of things relative to their income. The ability to consume and acquire goods and property is a top priority for average voter, regardless of the ethics involved with first-world consumerism.

Americans always elect President Dollar. And thus, a typical Dem candidate hires horrible campaign managers that believe punching down on vulnerable groups will attract centrist and conservative voters, instead of platforming with proposals that meaningfully improve the material conditions of workers. You just end up with a net loss of voters. And queer rights remain stuck.

  • No but love, compassion and an attempt to understand one another would work miracles for the human species. Most of our suffering is preventable.

Killing and warfare has never lead to the cessation of killing and warfare, and it never will.

If Russia’s entire civilian population refuses peacefully to comply with Putin, there’s really not much he can do. When society’s wheels come to a halt, the oligarchs lose their power.

If we can’t be better than chimps, then we deserve to die off as a species. We’re no better than a scourge upon the planet if we don’t make an effort to rise aboove being mere destructive apes. Apes made even more dangerous through technology and culture. Gorillas, organgutans and bonobos are gentler than us.

  • You’ve posted some good information about this. I’m also wondering at what age children were exposed to information about gender norms that deviate from cis-, like through, public education, YouTube or other social media platforms. I’m not sure if it’s taught in public education curriculums to young children, but my intuition says no.

My intuition also tells me that the decision to transition wasn’t influenced by outside factors, but purely through internal motivation. If anything, I would think a lot of individuals struggle with their gender dysphoria, as they realize there can be very real social consequences to coming out.

The fact that such a high rate of individuals are satisfied after their outsides match their insides is pretty much the nail in the coffin for those who oppose transition for youth. As well as anyone who thinks someone can be programmed via education or YouTube to become trans, non-binary, etc.

Also, individuals who differentiate from socially-reinforced gender norms only account for 1-3% of the total US population, so it’s very silly it’s treated by reactionaries as some threat that is going to consume the entire population of kids.

  • It was intentionally designed to be super difficult to impeach a sitting president, as the founders wanted to maintain political stability and discourage witch hunting by the majority party in Congress.

The problem is, it serves to maintain political inefficiencies. It creates lame-duck governments that accomplish nothing. The “stability” is just maintaining the status quo, and we’re stuck with incompetent or corrupt presidents for their entire term, as well as an inefficient, useless Congress. A lot of damage can be done in four years.

Personally, I think it needs to be a lot easier, like how other countries can oust a PM at any time for incompetence and/or corruption.

If establishment Dems gain a majority this midterm, we’re stuck with another lame-duck government for two more years, as it’s not a veto-proof majority that can impeach or make constitutional amendments.

That’s why I think the DSA are a good thing. Their platform includes abolishing the Senate. That would be a tremendous advance in making government more efficient at getting things done.
