1·8 天前Hold what? Who?
Maybe you’ll be a good fit for joining the league of nations. You see, they are the seed for the world government, and they’re going pretty well /s

Technology@lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders proposes bill to give the public a 50% stake in AI companiesEnglish
51·8 天前I think it makes sense. The bill will be paid off from taxes, so it makes sense that the bailout comes with company stock transfer to workers.
It’s fair for many reasons. One of them is that billionaires and corporations don’t pay taxes.
What about, instead of 50%, make the bailed out company be 100% owned by the people - not the government, the people.
I totally vibe the same as you. It’s not that it’s foreground all the time, it’s that now that my coding got to a level that I don’t need to concentrate, I enjoy part of me attention going to the music.
But yeah if I’m doing something hard it’s going to be the same 3 iron maiden albums for a couple days lol

6·11 天前Iannis Varoufakis (there’s probably 2+ typos there) has coined something like digital feudalism.
I think it makes more sense when imperialism is between countries like in this case, but if you get rid of imperialism you still have feudalism between the tech companies and the users of their monopolistic products, on their terms.
I listen to music. There’s an endless amount of bands I want to listen again, and another endless amount of bands I never heard that I’m trying to discover. And then there’s a streaming service dedicated to classical music. I don’t have enough hours during my work to listen to all of it, but I do my best. I probably average 6h per day listening to music.
If you’re wondering, I’m a software developer. And I also listen to music during meetings, I just lower the volume to hear the people.
Ah don’t forget to say fu Spotify
I left for codeberg. I am using codeberg.
It doesn’t have free ci, so I’m still looking for more options.
Yep I applied with the form. Didn’t get it. But well their free stuff is limited, that’s all.
I already left for codeberg, but I want another one. What else is out there? And don’t say self host, life’s too short for that.

1·21 天前Only as long as the state has monopoly on violence ( as in physical violence as well as in non physical threats: taxes, fines etc). When the workers take their share of the monopoly, the tables turn in their favour.

I’m still trying to work out how to do ci tests without GitHub actions or a credit card or self hosting.

51·2 个月前Yeah that’s what tends to happen when monopolies and oligopolies form. That streamer should be making money equally from a diversified pool of YouTube, patreon, Spotify and discord and at least 3 others. If they started earning more in one platform they should pull back to keep the income balanced

Well they do stack ranking. The promotions are not guaranteed, but the firings for people at the bottom of the leaderboard are.
