Oh look, it’s corruption, that the betrayal of the US and its allies is built on. Who would have thought.

I think it’s one of the reasons they already have a lawsuit to challenge the senate race. They want as little opposition to it as possible. I just hope the people hear about it before it’s too late.

Alaskan here. So many people are fed ths fuck up with Dan Sullivan that its been a record turnout for early voting. I heard about this yesterday and I dont think any alaskans would stand for it.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the local word on the second “Dan Sullivan” also running for that Senate seat? Is he a legit opponent to the incumbent, just another Republican, or someone in opposition just scamming on the name? I’ve read bits and pieces here and there, and of course now with the pre-emptive DoJ lawsuit there’s plenty of coverage, but nothing definitive on the second Sullivan himself. Any opinion as a local? (Serious question, feel free to check my account history.)

He is.nice enough guy., retty middle of the road. Alaska has open primaries and ranked-choice voting. So anyone who wants to throw their hat into the ring, can.

So when Dan J. Sullivan Jr. Entered the race, Dan S. Sullivan(incumbent) sued to remove him of the ballot. Which passed. But, the Alaska supreme court said that was unlawful (bc open primaries) and he needed to be placed BACK on the ballot. That was like 4 days before the primaries back in May.

Well Dan J Sullivan Jr. Happened to get enough votes to get on the ballot for the midterms.

Now with ranked-choice voting, you can vote for 1- all candidates in order from first choice to last choice. I usually just fill in my candidates unless I think someone deserves a chance at winning.

So its a legit process and a legit election and he main driver of the DOJ lawsuit is that alaskans are too stupid to know the difference between these two choices

            • Dan J. Sullivan JR.

            • Dan S. Sullivan (incumbent, registered Republican )

anyway, I didnt vote for either of them.

I was wondering whether it was a stunt but had my doubts, even though the Republicans sued, if only because nobody ever seemed to come forward with more than this is just a guy who really wanted to run. And as you pointed out, ranked choice voting: this kind of stunt is really only good for “choose one of only two” candidates in first past the post. Thank you for the considered response, really appreciate it.

Oh, and Alaskans are far from stupid. I hope you send that shit back to DC along with anyone but a Republican as your new senator.
