I don’t dislike linux, I dislike all the work people mention to me when I say I don’t use it because I’m as lazy as futurama’s lazy moon man. The response to that is usually a long list of taks they claim to be a very easy way to install Linux. I don’t care how hard or easy it is. I only do one thing. If I have to do two things, that’s too many things to do.
Call me when someone makes a distro that is as lazy as an android phone: press a button, all gets done on its own.
There’s a difference between being lazy and being unwilling to learn. I’m not trying to proselytize at you, but Linux can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be. Shit, I’m lazy too lol.
I’m running Cachyos because everything worked right out of the box with my hardware and it plays all my games without having to configure anything besides clicking on the “install gaming packages” button. It’s based on Arch though so you could install that instead and set it all up yourself to tweak it to your heart’s content. That’s kind of the beauty of it.
For real, I am even calling over friends for help to set up a Windows PC or a printer. I have absolutely no idea about technology and computers. I want something easy and mainstream because this way I have an easier time getting support. Two steps are one step too much. I have a lot of strengths but understanding tech is definitely not one of them. And frankly, I neither have the time nor interest to learn anything about it. I have a great respect for linux and I have fond memories of playing a game on my dad’s computer, but it’s not something that’s for me.

Most of it is habits
You’re used to windows so it doesn’t seem like that to you
If you do simple normie stuff, it’s super easy. For more advanced users, yea it’ll require some knowledge
I’m pretty sure you can use some distros without extra steps. Ubuntu is pretty mature.
I rather leave you as a windows user to suffer. :)
Because if you want a computer to be a tv, then windows is the best.
