When a Donald Trump-appointed judge delivered a stinging rejection of his effort to put National Guard troops on the ground in Portland, the president had some regrets.

“I wasn’t served well by the people that pick judges,” Trump vented Saturday.

His gripe came four months after he similarly sounded off about the “bad advice” he got from the conservative Federalist Society for his first-term judicial nominations — a reaction to a ruling, backed by a Trump-appointed judge, rejecting his power to impose sweeping tariffs on U.S. trading partners.

Motherfucker, you pick judges. Either you regret your own pick or you’re admitting that you’re just a rubber stamp for whoever is actually making the decisions. You either don’t know what the fuck is going on (definitely true) or you’re projecting with the Biden autopen jabs (probably true) or both (the most likely full picture here).

A shitload of people fell for the most obvious grifts of the stupidest, most famous conman ever. He used their bigotry to get the power to chop up the country and sell it for parts, and the fascism is just a side effect for him. He doesn’t care about anything but how much gold he can surround himself with, and he’ll do anything to pump up his supply of gold. He’s stupid, American goldmember.

You know that meme of “leaders give away credit, bosses give away blame”? It’s obvious where Trump falls on that. Every problem is someone else’s responsibility.

More objective evidence that he very explicitly thinks he is above the law, all law. Basically academic at this point in time, but the regime will collapse some day and it will be important to take count.

And when it does we will start to hear democrats talk about how it’s time to move on and heal, without going after all the people and companies involved.

It’s not that he thinks he’s above the law, he thinks he is the law. He’s “hired” people at the DOJ to do his bidding and picked judges to approve it. Same way he’d hire a painter to paint the walls gold.

“You scratch my back I maybe scratch yours, someday, if I feel like it” is the only way Trump can process the world.

I’m certain he sees it that way. Everything in his life is transactional, so “his” judges putting the actual rule of law first is a betrayal in his limited view.

It’s as if they’re people with minds and wills of their own that can only be influenced by money and power so much, and no more. What a fucking revelation to have at the age of 79 years old…

If he was a Democrat Republicans would use this statement to invalidate all of his appointments as unconstitutionally appointed by shadowy figures instead of the president… Imagine Democrats taking the initiative on good messaging for once? I can’t.
