You talking about the French protester from several years ago? Yeah, bud didn’t even take the smallest step, like using a vpn, to protect himself. At the time, Proton said if a vpn was used they wouldn’t have any data to give to the cops.
Same thing would have happened if the protester was using Tuta or any other email service.
All companies have to comply with local laws. Even a huge company like Apple has to submit to laws of any country they operate in.

You get 120 minutes per month of talk time. Is that enough for your business needs?
Your browser transmits that information to sites via JavaScript. If you can turn that off for most sites you can stop a lot of the spying.
What about the other persons’ on the call who didn’t consent?
This is why I will never submit ID just to stay on or join a site.
