It’s a kind thing to hate MAGA. “Living and letting live” these people is only possible if you simply have the privilege to ignore what they are doing to those who don’t have that ability. That complacency completely strips any option of being a nice person away.

I think you misunderstand that these old fucks aren’t working, they’re just collecting the paycheque because it’s easy money for them. They barely need to do anything and have assistants who tell them where to go and how to do everything. They don’t understand what hardwork is so they probably consider themselves workaholics, but reality knows they’re just useless.
Don’t worry, in Canada our “centrist” party(read: at the moment, incredibly conservative) was elected in 2015 on that promise…and they immediately gave up on it when they learned they’d probably never win again. And then we let them get away with three other times, if I remember correctly!

Apparently they fixed their incredibly undemocratic primary process, but this Canadian never noticed because they went 100% undemocratic and forced Harris onto everyone without any primary. Wild.
The two party system but also the fact that, around the world, we act like 51% is anything more statistical noise. That’s not a majority. We need to start seeing the bar as being 60-70%, 50% is way too low and results in, functionally, less than half the country being represented.
It’s not about need exactly, it’s about a writing convention. Also, we do have these pauses in our speech/that’s where we would insert those pauses naturally, they’re just often very subtle.
A lot of language, no matter what you speak, has a lot of these subtleties that are so engrained as to be almost unnoticeable. I’m at a pretty high intermediate level French and, because of the closeness with English, I’m actually learning quite a lot about why English is the way it is, too.

You mean the “, too”? That’s how it’s supposed to be written. People often don’t do it that way, but that’s how it’s correctly used, and few have accused us anglophones, as a whole, of really understanding how to use our own damn language. It’s the same with “, but”, also, and “, also”, also.
I just want to see Windows, and so many other layered-up legacy programs, refreshed. My other example is AutoCAD for a software that’s just half-finished garbage stacked on top of older half-finished garbage for a while until it’s all on top of a program that was designed for computers from the ‘90s.
Windows has other problems, of course, like how no matter how good their shit is they still have absolutely dogshit, anti-human behaviours, but still.

Like, yes, but also consumers are the electorate and the people we elect need to represent us. We keep electing people who represent the businesses’ interests and not our own, despite alternatives, and so we have it in our heads that these things are more separate than they are. We have the control, we just refuse to use it to the point where most people have forgotten that.
Instead, all they really ever need to do is step-down and get a high-paid consulting job and for some reason that’s enough.

Right? If I don’t otherwise pay for the service then sure, some ads are fine. Problem is that at this point I’m seeing ads every few minutes, and if the video restarts in a weird spot and reloads funny after I reopen my laptop I might even get the same ads looping after literally two seconds of video.
Also, I was paying for the service and then they gave a fuckload of support to Israel to spread propaganda so I stopped.
