I literally had this reaction from a someone recently. I commented that I had trouble installing a specific program, so I switched back to windows for now. I was not looking for advice, it was just a post asking about recent Windows user’s experience switching to Linux, so I shared my experience and that I had the intention to try again because I want off Windows.

Dude commented like I’m just a dumb dumb who didn’t follow the numerous instructions online (I did) because it’s so easy to install on Linux (doesn’t change my issue) that their mom could do it (again, still doesn’t change that I had issues).

I’ll be trying again soon, but I can understand why some folks would be turned off of Linux because of that.

We only have Ring cameras because they came with the house. Thankfully, I do not live in an area where this is a risk to my neighbors, but I’ve wanted to switch to a local PoE system since we moved in.

Does the system you have give access to the cameras on your phone when away from the house? That’s the one big thing my partner and I want on ours. I’m just barely getting into self hosting, but I’m willing to try to do something with a system that matches our needs.

I read too many books to remember all of the plots. I recommend books to people based on the vibe I get from a book. “Oh! You like dystopian romance? Try out the Mercenary Librarians books! I don’t remember what happened, but I loved them!”

Not cat, but rabbits

My bunnies know they get fresh hay before I go upstairs to bed. My boy bun will run back and forth between looking at me and looking down the hall to the garage where his hay is. My girl bun will hop on the couch and glare at me with her adorable look of disappointment. They tell me to go to bed so they get food lol
