When me or my wife can’t find something we like to say “I remember putting it in a very smart place” or “it must be in a very smart place”.

Exactly. I also think that the problem was never just implementing stuff, the problem is to support the written code. Lately I stumbled upon a phrase “free as in a free puppy” I think those AI clones are exactly this. You will need to support it with AI, because no one else will be able or will be willing for enough time to do anything there. There is no understanding gained from this and if this bubble ever bursts or at least deflate a bit and prices for a token will get real it will no longer be maintainable.

3·10 days agoI wonder how and if it will change votes. I am not from Spain, know only some basic Spanish. So if someone is from Spain and is more informed could you expand on the political climate? I understand that people are upset. Are they blaming prime minister’s party PSOE or those right wing parties (PP and VOX) that are on top or on the rise?
I am not sure if I read it correctly and probably it is far too soon to judge, but polls do not look good, looks like VOX and PP is rising and PSOE is falling.

The newest poll is from 7-8 October and I think gives VOX the biggest rise:

2·11 days agoDoes anyone remember Die Hard 2? There is a scene in it that movie that those kind of things happening in the USA remind me. In a military truck a soldier (Corporal Telford) has his throat slit by his superior (Major Grant) while the rest of the soldiers just sit there idly. He was killed because he was not one of “them”.
spoiler: a drastic photo from the mentioned movie scene

11·18 days agoI want to believe. But X (formerly known as Twitter) and Facebook are still there. It may be a long death which is indistinguishable from (low-quality) life.
Once I mostly succeeded at one office job, because I took a paper and drawn a little map with who is sitting where. The process of writing down the name on the map made it click. This process doesn’t work in many different circumstances unfortunately.
Flour could be considered a processed food not a processed garbage. But typical american bread for example would be called “bread for toast” in my country and is considered a processed garbage.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Ubuntu's Rustification Has a New Milestone! Coreutils Migration is CompleteEnglish
11·1 month agoBut from all the things why core-utils? I don’t think it is common to need changes in core-utils. Now with this MIT version it may certainly be needed, because of broken compatibility. So it feels like instead of doing nothing (because they work as is) and using GNU core-utils they switch to MIT core-utils that are slightly incompatible and because of that need work. I would assume that it will certainly provide patches for MIT core-utils, but I am sure it will just make another platform target for scripts like macOS. Some GPL projects will change their scripts to make them work with Ubuntu.
I guess corporations will corporate.

They will try to discourage use of on-screen keyboards (making them dumber and less reliable) to force you to use AI dictation and sell you more headphones.
