2·7 days agoThe first big meme competition I ever got excited about was back over on ytmnd[dot]com, whose name origin was of course Sean Connery in Finding Forrester inexplicably shouting, “You’re the man now, dawg!”

The quintessential example of this category: the pointless, yet hilarious improv comedy podcast recapping all 431 episodes of the 1960s series Bonanza: Bonanas for Bonanza ← YouTube explanation on Conan O’Brien Feeds a Friend (sic).
I was hesitant to jump in despite loving Daly and Gourley, since I couldn’t give two sh¡ts about the show. But the show is not at all the point. It’s merely the premise that keeps the train on its tracks. So maybe it’s just the most ironic example of this category.
Agree to misagree. I think it’s a little funny to defend her name and then pull the rug out when describing how it’s appropriating an unexpected culture. I celebrate our differences.
And unless I’m mistaken Bindi Irwin is Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin (RIP)'s daughter. And her name Bindi isn’t a cultural appropriation of the Indian forehead adornment, it’s a celebration of the Western Australian aboriginal culture (Noongar language) word for “Little Girl” which they appropriated.
Was gonna comment you misspelled SOAP 🧼, but just in case I did a quick joojle and it actually turns out it’s “Android Open Source Project” (for any other newbs like me reading this).

95·1 month agoHowever the Battery Saver mode on Androids that only charges the battery up to 80% DOES extend battery life. Substantial evidence shows that a high State of Charge accelerates degradation through: solid electrolyte interphase growth, loss of lithium inventory, and loss of active materials. (See: mdpi.com)
