    At my first job, I once was telling a personal story - don’t remember what it was, it was most of my life ago - and noticed that everyone around me looked pretty bored. Mid sentence I said “but I just realized none of you care, so nevermind.” One of them said “well, at least he’s honest” and they all walked away.

    I’ve gotten better at socializing since then, but that still hurts on occasion.
