Same goes for WW2 Browning M2s. I know a guy who does WW2 reenactments and a guy in his platoon has a working Jeep-mounted quad anti-air gun.
(That historically didn’t do shit for anti-air but having a working WW2 technical is still fucking awesome)
And the shittier thing is that they kinda are valued as currency. Well, maybe “investment vehicles” is a better term. Only the rich own them and because they don’t care about the poors, they’re not going to let lawmakers dismantle the NFA to the point of removing the mg registry. If they did, their value would plummet overnight.

Pretty sure there are also a few pre-ban M16 and M4 lowers floating around out there. Every once in a while, one will pop up for about $25-35K. I’ve heard rumors of pre-ban AR-10 lowers going for $45-50K.
Fun fact: For Halloween last year I was a gangster, and 3d printed model of one of these, modifying it by removing the stock, and making the magazine and fore-grip removable, so that it could fit into a vintage violin case I bought on ebay.
