In an argument recently a Zionist challenged me to name one thing about Israel that was similar to Nazi Germany and I said: The laws are different for Jews than for everyone else.
According to their supreme court ruling (which sets their constitutional precedence) only Israeli Jews have the right to self determination, nobody else.

The word ‘apartheid’ has been thrown about a lot with Israel but it’s never quite been accurate as Palestine is another country.
But this is Apartheid. There is no weaseling around it. It’s 100% apartheid. Israel, go fuck yourselves.
But… that’s how South African apartheid worked? The white government tried to represent the black as sovereign states (“Bantustans”) and revoked South African citizenship from people who lived there. The rest of the civilised world ignored this idea, particularly since the “independent” states weren’t even contiguous areas on a map. Map is below. Compare this to current maps of Palestinian control in the area Israel claims, and you’ll find it remarkably similar. The “inspiration” is not even hidden.

It’s literally in the Israeli Constitution that all Jews and only Jews
can beare Israeli Nationals (edit: all Jews are per the constitution Israeli nationals, which is why any Jew can just land on the Tel-Aviv airport and ask for and get Israeli nationality).Non-Jews in Israel can only be Non-Jewish Israeli Citizens which is something different in that country and has fewer rights than a national (for example, they have to apply if they want to move to live in some places and can be refused).
So at its very core Israel is and has been from the start an Apartheid state.
I always took the term “apartheid state” to refer to the way Israel treats Palestinians both in the West Bank, which despite being a separate country is also under military occupation by Israel, and at home within Israeli borders
It’s not another country in any real sense of the word; in practice both the West Bank and Gaza are semi-autonomous territories of Israel, the difference being that the West Bank is more or less obedient while Gaza is in rebellion. Palestine as a sovereign state is a legal fiction so in practice it’s all Apartheid.

This is most likely a Right-wing plot to drive division in the Left leading up to elections. Many parties end up polling below the threshold, so in a contentious election they often merge to form larger parties and mutually benefit. If Left wing parties can’t form common ground to merge, then the Right stands to gain more seats without having to win more votes.
What division in the left? Literally every “left” party is pro genocide in Israel.
The actual leftists (communist party and the Arab parties) have a coalition that this apartheid law would break up.
Any proof that this is uniquely rightwing? I couldn’t find a list of votes by political party or anything of the sort, and my understanding is that the Central Election Committee is at least in theory broadly representative of the Knesset as a whole.
There is only one left and one center-left party in the Knesset and together they have 9 seats out of 60.
The commission has a majority of 18 Likud-aligned members. The proportion is similar to the Knesset. The rest are from other parties. Now go look at the vote total from the article.
They didn’t say it outright but it’s clear this is being driven by Likud and their far right allies.

You do know that the point of a democracy is that it’s up to the will of the people to decide who gets toppled politically, not for the party in charge to ban a party that may topple them, right?
Not that an Arab party would topple any of the leading parties in Israel anyway, but the point still stands.
Not exactly… historically, democracy is a system where random citizen are called at power for a given time, and then face a trial where people may condemn them to death if they did shit (or claim they are heroes if they did good). At least that is how Athena’s democracy worked.
The new democratic claim is that people choose a head, and then the head can do whatever without face any consequences. Choose your tyran.
US, European countries, Soviet Union and North Korea aren’t really democratic systems, even if they claim so.
