Why are the other roman numerals there but C and M are not 100 and 1000? Also what is E-Idiot??
Idiot starts with one of the sounds that E can produce. In the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), idiot is written “/ˈɪdiːət/”. If you say just the letter ‘E’, the sound you are making, in English, at least, is ‘ɪ’.
I see. Never would have got that. But I am not a native speaker and I do think the way english spelling works is utterly moronic.
Neither am I, but I’ve been studying English for long enough to feel pride in understanding this insulting language.

I legitimately, calmly, and matter-of-factly said this once on the phone while spelling something, because the phrase “M as in ‘Mancy’” was seared into my brain from years of reading reddit comments. And then I had to sound like an idiot being like “sorry no no I mean ‘m’ as in ‘Mary’ I’m sorry.”
