“Canada called me a couple of weeks ago, they want to be part of it, to which I said, ‘Well, why don’t you just join our country. You become 51 — become the 51st state — and you get it for free,’” Trump told the assembled officials.
“So, I don’t know if that made a big impact, but it does make a lot of sense.”
Trump also claimed Canada is having “a hard time up there” because “as you know, with tariffs, everyone’s coming into our country.” The president then boasted about investment leaving Canada and other countries and going into the United States, pointing to automobile plants.
Western Canada is cutting loose it seems, they’ve had it with their government. Whether or not they have anything to do with the US is still to be seen. They might benefit a little financially from it, but the land will be better off if they don’t. We’ll come in and trash everything.
Western Canada has always talked of separation, it’s a nothing burger.
Everytime the Liberals win an election they do this. Nothing ever happens because they know damn well it would be a disaster.
I wish the federal government would stop propping up the oil sands. Cut our losses and move on. Its not gonna be profitable. Ever.
