The world should, in my opinion, form trade agreements that require a free press, rules against disinformation in said reporting institutions and other media outlets that purport to share news, even those who call themselves entertainment but also have press passes - and any nation that breaks those rules can’t participate in trade systems and isn’t invited to conventions to discuss future trade dealings. If the US refuses to go along, replace the US dollar as a global trade currency, begin mass sell off of bonds and other forms of investments. Shutting down the economy absolutely will work. You can’t be lazy and greedy where there are empty coffers and an angry mob asking why they’re empty.
