  • You’re almost the perfect use case lol. The whole point of the fold is for people that have or want both a phone and a tablet, but only want to carry one device.

I don’t currently have an iPad. My wife does and I end up using it a lot. I want an iPad mini for the times that I want just a bit bigger screen, but I’ve held off because I don’t want another device.

So I’ve got a duo on order. 90% of the time I’ll probably have it closed. The other 10% of the time it’ll serve the use that I use my wife’s iPad for but will have my setup instead of her layout that I’m not used to lol.

  • Because having the smaller profile in your pocket, but being able to fold out to watch content on a higher screen is completely different than zooming….

Sure you can zoom in on a YouTube video, but why? You’re just getting a nose or something instead of the video.

The fold is for when you do most of your stuff on the small screen, but want the big screen for certain things and don’t want two devices to do it. Which is the perfectly valid use case.

Taking a modern large screen phone on a run can be a pain in the ass. Why get a small phone and a small tablet when you can have a small phone that unfolds into a small tablet when you want it to?

  • The wraps are dirt cheap. They start at $500 for a basic color.

And you don’t have to do anything at all to them. You could leave them with the base coat. They’re a composite panel so it wont rust or degrade.

They’re one I’ve priced out is a gloss purple wrap and that’s $670.

The whole point of the slate is getting as bare bones as possible and being able to do it all yourself. That’s the selling point.

  • Because even though the average American drives less than 40 miles a day, they will not buy something with that low of range because the average American still takes longer trips fairly frequently.

I mostly ride a motorcycle and barely drive my car. When I do the average trip is only around 10 miles. But every month or so I end up driving around 120 miles round trip. A 100 mile car would be pointless because I’ couldn’t even make that trip.

  • I mean, It’s not the people with investments really feeling it. The S&P 500 is up 12.92% YTD and 26.96% since Trump took office again, and treasuries range from 4.89% to 5.69% depending on the term. I got a 5% raise in January and looking at another 5% raise here in a couple of months, and I’ve gotten 5% in bonuses throughout the year.

There are basically no investment vehicles right now that aren’t significantly beating inflation. Unless you’re playing the market yourself picking individual securities, which is really just gambling, not really investing.

It’s the people struggling without a safety net already that are feeling it the most. Those are the people that need the relief.

We probably will never truly know and they are denying anything is even happening.

There’s conflicting reports about what happened, and if it was even plague. One Russian report is that she contracted something in Thailand and then got sick when she was back in Russia. Another is that she accidentally broke a test tube with y. pestis cultures.

If it’s the latter, I’d imagine she hid the accident for fear of punishment until it was too late, and now the Russian government is covering it up.
