17·10 days agoI pulled my retirement funds from the market over a year ago when the market was clearly detatching from reality. They are in a cash account earning modest interest for now.
I don’t let fools in a stupor play with my money.

54·12 days agoAt this point, to anyone surprised at this idea, I can only roll my eyes.
He was quoted, recorded on video, saying “You’ll never have to vote again.”
He told you exactly this. Morons didn’t really think about what that meant. Many of us saw it for exactly what it was.

4·21 days agoFWIW, this is a bug of some sort in Steam. My wife and I play together and I see her spam like this all the time, and her game is working perfectly.
Our setups are the same, and I apparently never spam her. The one diff is my comp is on ethernet, and hers is on wifi due to it’s location.
Wonder if it has to do with connection.
Standing is just gross. Pee mists everywhere, even if you have perfect aim. All around the toilet and the wall and floor near it.
And if you need proof of this, visit the house of a bachelor that never cleans.
Sitting unless I’m in the forest.

4·1 month agoI mean, when we had hard water we just put it through a tap mounted filter. Not sure why anyone needs water to be clearer than that.
I’m firmly in the camp that if you’re so concerned with appearances that you need to buy special ice cubes for a party, you need to reassess priorities.

Ok. I know Canada has great water supply, but where do you live that your water needs to be " clarified"?

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Do not draw me without reason, do not wield me without valor.
4·1 month agoAs seen in Quentin Tarantino’s “Fill Bill”
Working at MSN Tech support during the. Blaster Worm and its subsequent variants which triggered reboots in Windows 98-XP, I was put off from every version of Windows including XP, and it was the last windows I installed.
After working an 8 hour shift of repeating the same proceedure on a customers machine to properly fix the virus every 15 minutes, the same thing I had done every day for three weeks, I came home to find my XP machine bootlooping due to the second variant (Sophos) finding its way into my patched machine as the fix for it had come out while I was at work. Instead of joining the Freelancer LAN party I was due to be at that weekend, I spent the time fixing my machine and learning Linux. That year Windows became a secondary install, and remained that way until Wine had stabalised for most games I played. I think I dropped dual boot around 2011.

I do not miss these. The RCA wires were so frail on most consoles. At least you could repair cables with spare parts from Radio Shack back then.
