Ok but since you brought it up, do YOU believe objective morality exists?

News@lemmy.world•Russia restricts FaceTime, its latest step in controlling online communications
2·7 days agoI mean it’s not nescessarily bullshit. FaceTime is end to end encrypted if I recall correctly so it could be used for anything. But this is completely ludicrous for other reasons. If the terrorists start passing notes do you ban pencil and paper?

News@lemmy.world•A Death Row Inmate Was Released on Bail After His Conviction Was Overturned. Louisiana Still Wants to Execute Him.
14·8 days agoYou reminded me of this wisdom from Gandalf:
Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.

politics @lemmy.world•Steve Bannon’s Surprisingly Key Role in the Epstein Scandal
20·8 days agoFreaking finally! When the emails dropped I skimmed through a bunch of them myself and the big thing I took away was “Holy Hell why are there so many with Steve Bannon and nobody is talking about this?” Maybe it got some mentions here and there that he was in there but it seemed like a HUGE volume to me like they were bff. Glad to see someone reporting on this.

Technology@lemmy.world•Valve Announces New Steam Machine, Steam Controller & Steam FrameEnglish
20·29 days agoSteve from Gamers Nexus has a solid video where he met with people about Valve and goes into a lot of details on the announced hardware. He reported that they told him that the Steam Machine is not aiming for a console price. This made sense to him as he pointed out it’s basically an ITX computer and you can do computer things with it. Anyway I don’t know what it will cost but I’m guessing north of $500 easily.

News@lemmy.world•US anti-fascism expert blocked from flying to Spain at airport
52·2 months agoNo I don’t think it was a coincidence but this could easily be some MAGA he personally knows that heard his plans and is fucking with him. It’s not necessarily a government action is all.

News@lemmy.world•US anti-fascism expert blocked from flying to Spain at airport
182·2 months agoThank you, the comments are maddening as nobody seems to have read the article. His ticket was mysteriously cancelled after he was in the airport. It’s not like law enforcement detained him or prevented him which is what the title insinuates. At the time of writing he was rescheduled to fly and was staying the night in a hotel waiting for his flight.

Just want to point out that going to Suriname is going the wrong direction if you are trying to reach the USA. Also even IF the boat had drugs and IF it was destined for the USA, it seems like this would be a job for a coast guard vessel to intercept and arrest the smugglers. Just executing random people in the ocean because they might be smugglers is murder.
This might be obvious to you dear reader but I feel like we need to say these things loudly and often.
