  • Back in the day they made these ones where it was like a solid piece of rigid plastic that went around the back of your neck and had earbuds at each end. You’d loop them over the top of your ear, and it was a wireless thing. Meant for like runners and stuff. I can’t find something like that anymore. I wish I could. It was so much more secure than the little wireless earbuds we have now, and I don’t get why they seem to have stopped making them.

  • but this garbage that they violently cut loose is insane.

I’m starting to think you non-americans are just unaware of what America is like. Nothing I said is abnormal for an American. Going Skeetshooting, going to the range, etc are all normal activities that millions of Americans do regularly. If you own a gun and don’t practice with it then that’s just irresponsible. Not a single thing I said is illegal to do, or violent. That is just your own fantasy. And the idea that your going to do a “national peaceful shutdown” and that’s not going to be met with mass violence, at which point you will need the people who weren’t so naive to come protect you, is hilarious btw.

  • So basically you can’t handle the idea that there are people who don’t think voting is going to make a difference? Even when i say to do it if you want to? I’m not telling people not to vote. I’m just saying my opinion on it. And then on the guns thing you say basically exactly what I said verbatim but then act like your version is the more reasonable and mine is somehow “violent” in a way yours isn’t. Like what do you think “protecting yourself” in a worst case scenario would look like? It would look like a civil war. Do you have some fantasy that you’d somehow just be going it alone like rambo and wouldn’t need to pick a side? What exactly do you take issue with in regards to guns that I was saying?

  • With the elections coming up theres a lot of posts saying vote. I don’t think that will do much but if you want to vote do it. But you damn well better do 1 more thing too. BUY A GUN! The 2nd amendment exists. If you are in the US and you are a leftist I want you to be ARMED! Locked and Loaded! Legally! Go to the range and practice. Go skeet shooting.

Comment unrelated to the post. Just sayin.

Edit: For all the people acting like buying a gun is somehow crazy or whatever: I 100% Guarantee that the neo-nazis have guns. The MAGA people have guns. Do you really like the idea of them having plenty of them and your team not having any?

  • Okay, I agree 30MB isn’t a big deal, but that’s not really an argument not to optimize. The entire Debian Stable mirror for example has like 70,000 packages in it. Let’s say all of those packages took the position that “A few extra MB doesn’t matter.” If each one had just 1 extra MB that is 70GB of extra bloat. If each one had 2 extra MB that is 140GB of extra bloat. If each one had 30MB of extra bloat that is 2.1TB of extra bloat. Now obviously thats a very unrealistic, and extreme, example, but the point is that with a super complex operating system things add up. We should appreciate the nit picky little dudes who yell over 30MB because they’re probably responsible in part for a good bit of cumulative extra disk space for the rest of us.

  • Well I think a big part of that is also that the people who people like get famous and then being famous makes it easy to get money. So idk that it would be possible to have rich and famous people in general and not have society be obsessed with them. America is just weird in that their famous people are not the historically normal famous people. Like it used to be that the famous people were the ones making big impacts on societies. Now it’s who can put on the biggest spectacle.
