I love when people comment “they don’t make music like this anymore” because they most certainly do, and are probably making more of it than any point in history.

Life is just one big, long, futile fight against the ever-increasing entropy of an inevitably doomed universe and the best we can hope for is to carve out some sort of fleeting happiness and meaning in our short lives before they’re over.

It’s actually wild to watch how quickly the mood has been shifting since 2024.

Now, everyone is talking about wealth disparity and all the issues that come with it. Progressive candidates are winning primaries left and right. Democrats are flipping seats at an unprecedented rate. Black voter turnout in the South has been surging since the gutting of the VRA.

In November of 2024 the Democratic party was in shambles. Now, thanks to progressive candidates and voters, they’re actually forming an identity that isn’t just “not Republican.” They’re running on issues that benefit the common people and they’re winning.

I think that anybody but a Republican winning that special election was always a pipe dream.

Look at election results since November 2024 and you’ll see it.

For what reason? A sick person is in a hospital and no law has been broken.

In fact, you cannot just go into hospitals and start checking rooms one by one.

There isn’t an upside. They’re just as stuck as the Democrats are. Mitch isn’t dead, he’s likely severely incapacitated. They’d love to have him on the Senate floor voting R but he isn’t healthy enough to do so, and the only way to remove a Senator is expulsion by a two-thirds vote in the Senate. That certainly wouldn’t get enough votes and, at this point, is pretty irrelevant anyway since the seat would simply remain vacant.

But you are correct that as long as he’s ill he isn’t voting, which is a good thing, which is why there was really no need for people to be all over Andy Beshear’s nuts this past month.
