Very optimistic (probably too much) for the discussion about algorithm laws. Even if it just sheds light.
I lost my best friend of ten years after he wouldn’t stop insulting and bombarding me for my woke opinions. He wasn’t like that before COVID.

I am genuinely worried about the upcoming elections here. Pauline is one angle, but we will probably have a coalition government with the Liberal party (they are our politically right party, Labor is our left).
The policies in my city that are winning public sentiment include:
To make things worse, the Labor party currently in power recently changed leaders on account of a corruption allegation. The new leader is going and capitulating on a lot of things to try and stop the sway to Liberal/ one nation. Such as cutting the budget for the most influential and forward planning infrastructure development I’ve witnessed in my lifetime. An outer loop train line to connect all the radial lines. Should it have been done 30 years ago? Does that mean we shouldn’t do it now? For fucks sake. I’m pissed.
Yes. It’s extremely predatory. I commonly see people asking for financial support when they have gone way over their ability to pay back. In Australia the fees for late or failed payment are often starting at $10 per instance.
I used a similar service once to buy a plane ticket, which was very sudden and unexpected, one week before I got paid (monthly). Even though I knew I had the remaining payments coming up and budgeted for it, the psychology of having the cash in your account absolutely can tip you into buying more before your last purchase is paid off.
Ryan Holiday is the pusher for that.
Stoicism helped me have more empathy for myself, which in turn helped me become more empathetic for others. This was after I read the book.
Growing up, I thought Dr. Cox from Scrubs was the emotional role model, as he was described as a “stoic.” Couldn’t have been more wrong. Meditations turned that on it’s head for me and gave me the tools to try and become radically empathetic.

I did get it, I was just trying to make a very dry joke about easy it is to doubt every headline these days!

I’d like to see the media mix modeling data to really assess the ROP of these prayers. Cross check that against miracle count and we’ll really be cooking.

The Xteink X4 with Crosspoint!
I recently bought a tiny eink reader which is great. Plus it’s flashable and heaps of community around it - I also love the idea of reading books but they just don’t fit into my day to day life very well!
One of my favourites is The Music Scene by Blockhead. Just phenomenal animation.
I dunno I have an 80L bin and it’s got one bag of rubbish per week as a couple. Understand families have more waste, that’s why 120L+ bins exist. I can’t personally say I’ve ever been offended by a smelly bin. Waste smells. Make less waste, or give your bin a better seal. We could comfortably move our waste frequency to monthly if we had a bigger bin tbh.
It’s more that the state has no say in bin collection, that is a local council task. Every council has different bin collection cycles and even types of bins, as well as different waste management facilities etc. balanced against local requirements. Doubling bin pickup means either twice as many trucks + staff, or 24 hour collections.
