Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•What do you think about Bookracy?
35·6 days agoTry “Contemporary Religious Satanism” and see if it works for you. You’ll find all the problems I’ve mentioned.
Is it a problem to want more options? To want a distributed network of available books for knowledge? Does everything needs to be concentrated in Anna’s Archive? Does it seem without failures to you?
Search for the same book in z-lib. Copyright claims have removed the book!
Don’t you agree people should resist more about this instead of letting everything for the hands of Anna’s Archive? Does this make sense to you?

Technology@lemmy.world•Nvidia is buying Hugging Face for almost $13 billion
8·8 days agoI think they’re going for a GitHub/Microsoft approach. Let people enjoy themselves in a nice environment and cut them off if something does not fit/satisfy. Then call it “rogue behavior” to keep the public in check.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Me when I enter any website in 2026
237·14 days agoYou know, since we’re on this topic, I think a small LLM powered by tool use would be cool. But things need to be better. For example, will you rely forever on DuckDuckGo that for instance relies on Bing? That’s a bad idea. Someone needs to get CommonCrawl or make new datasets and power it using tool use. Tool use + a small LLM would be useful for many uses that people have for LLMs. That would cut energy use and the need for large DataCenters a lot. Isn’t that what you want?

347·15 days agoSorry, I rather use AI than a real person on a red carpet. I just don’t jive with Fame.
Edit: I could have put a picture with Robert Downey Jr. or something like that, but I really didn’t want to.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•World's largest open library calls for volunteers to scan and preserve physical books as AI companies buy, scan, and destroy them — Anna's Archive says ‘time is running out’ as ‘knowledge is permanent
6·19 days agoMaybe there is a way to do this anonymously? Anna’s Archive deals with books new and old, but maybe that ‘physical-only’ book that has no digital print would be the best place to start?
I remember no-eyes from #ebooks (IRCHighWay) prioritized recommendations of novels (fiction) to expand their available books, so I think that’s the safest type of book to scan?

Technology@lemmy.world•Windows 11 identifier code used to track Scattered Spider perp after Microsoft shared info with FBI — 19-year-old US-Estonian hacker arrested over alleged ties to infamous extortion group
51·2 months agoFrom what we can tell, GDID pretty much had a comprehensive report on Stokes ready before the prosecution even built its case and it was only a matter of connecting the dots. Stokes’ web activity, videogame history, IP addresses, tool usage (including Ngrok), Azure status, and more were logged with timestamps, and were provided to the investigators by Microsoft.
I wish I had information on my videogame history directly from Windows.
