I don’t think he thinks he’ll go to prison at this point. He spent his entire life avoiding it.

Nah, screw you. I’m not the one constantly thinking about a dead dude. People can’t even admit who killed him.
If you’re so focused on team politics that you can’t even imagine “your side” killing someone you like, you’re a lost cause. People like that will not help us at all long term.

Its the celebrity effect. I even saw it with otherwise respected individuals like Neil DeGrasse Tyson. People fundamentally cannot understand that a person who is a subject matter expert in one are may be completely out of their element in another area. Add in social media letting then (intentionally or not) amplify their most mundane thoughts and boom. You’re ah “influencer” on any topic you choose to talk about.
Joe Rogan seemed different because he had the sense to bring other smart people on and let them talk. But that mask slipped off over the years.

You’re mostly right. But things do matter. No one wanted to go to war. And the consequences of going to war was so bad that Cheney didn’t even try to run for president. Literally no one in America wanted to be involved in Iran, and now Trump’s cult is melting down as their gas prices explode. This absolutely will affect midterms.
Suck that change for the people is slow, but it happens. Actions still have consequences.

Libertarianism makes sense in a culture where you feel markets will keep themselves honest.
Reality , of course, is disappointing and I was a stupid young man for believing that.

Not necessarily. They believed whatever their podcast host on Twitch said to believe, and they were paid to say “believe in Trump”. Or at best “both sides are the same it doesn’t matter”
Democrats meanwhile did nothing because they are extremely slow with adapting to how the youth consume news.

Don’t worry we’ll museums for him. These days, instead of newspaper headlines and TV footage we’ll have wall of unhinged tweets and AI propaganda posted on the official POTUS feed

I don’t think the kinds of people who still complain on CS via phone are the ones giving sony a PR crisis on Twitter

I don’t think it’s inherently bad. We don’t need to use double the world’s energy to power it (as we see with open weight models) . We don’t need to centralize it in trillion aire companies. We don’t need to leverage an entire global economy on it. We don’t need to use it to replace human labor without a proper economic model.
Those are all aspects of greed and stupidity. None of that is inherent.

But we very much do enforce times on when not to use calcs. Thars the whole point here.

nothing is good nor evil, but thinking makes it so.
But i see the issues on both sides of the aisle. Kind of like how social media is a great tool that brings about instant worldwide communication. But those merits don’t cancel out how it’s been used to exploit the human psyche, influence elections, and even coax genocides.
In this case, the downwind effects from encouraging use by mature professionals is impacting the impressionable future. And no one seems to care about the future anymore.

Haven’t done it in years, but that’s “impromptu weekend getaway with the boys” level of celebration for me.

TBF Dolly probably could have. Dolly doesn’t seem like the kind of person who’d care about that, though. And you have to remember her husband passed less than 2 years ago at 82YO.

You don’t think the industry cares about the impact of photos like this one from the article?
We’re in a post truth society. So I question how impactful it really is these days even with video evidence. This has been fought for decades and taught in at least 2 generations of school by now, but progress is still slow.
I think that’s what they mean above. They are past the phase where they bother trying to hide it. But I’d love to be proven wrong.

here’s one: https://vimeo.com/378669826 (I’ll update the other post too)
was semi-annoying to find because the original NBC archive doesn’t load anymore, and ofc its not on Youtube. But if people ask for it, I gotta try harder, since I brought it up.

No, that’s Fran Drescher. Wrong sitcom. (also apparently another decent person IRL. Though she has more controversies being the lead of SAG-AFTRA).

He’s been a shit head for so long that 90’s films called it out. I’m sure I can find SNL skits older than I am taking the piss out of him.
… yup. 1988.

It was asking for his opinion on Jon Ossoff’s statements he made last week. Which should honestly be a softball question for a politician. But ofc we continue to see how fragile that ego is

stop replying to me to argue about things I didn’t say?
you’re not who I originally responded to and you came in later in the chain. I made one reply on a public forum and you’re already all “stop talking to me”?
Come on, man.
Wanting to end the penny (still did it illegally)
This (pending legality)
