Someone needs to draw little red hats on the sheep.
“He’s going to eat us?!?”
“No, no, he’s just joking.”
“…But he literally said he’s going to eat us.”
“Yeah, but I like that he’s honest about it.”
“So he is going to eat us?”
“Of course not, you fear monger!”
“He just said it again!”
“That’s just his sense of humor. Finally, someone who speaks his mind!”
“He just ate someone!”
“Yeah, but they were bad.”
“How do you know?”
“He said so himself. You really should stop questioning everything.”
America is so fucked up that this would actually be an improvement for us. Imagine if people preferred politicians who didn’t lie.
Imagine if Trump and Johnson stopped lying every time they were asked about the shutdown, saying that Democrats are insisting that Medicare and Medicaid go to illegal immigrants. It’s simply a lie. Easy to verify that it’s not true.
Imagine if Trump just told the truth. He doesn’t give any shits about anybody but himself, and so obviously he also doesn’t care if the ACA premiums double or triple for the average person, and he’s absolutely delighted about a shutdown because he wants to consolidate his own power by firing as many government workers as possible.
And that Trump and Johnson are trying to throw as many smoke screens up as possible to avoid people knowing that Trump’s name is all over the Epstein files, everywhere, since they were best friends for like a decade, and it’s not like Epstein suddenly turned evil after parting ways with Trump. Trump even said that Epstein liked young girls.
Maybe he’d get away with it. Who knows? But I fucking wish they just told the truth.
“Well, at least he’s honest!”

What about those times a thing is said then the literal opposite thing is done? I’ve seen a lot pop up.
Outside the US we call it “back flipping” which is fancy political jargon for “a straight up fucking lie” and it can end up in political suicide.
Do people just ignore it or do mental gymnastics occur?
Probably column A and B both. People are lazy, so I’d wager they’ll ignore everything they don’t want to confront until that’s no longer an option, and then the painful contortions start.
I mean, he does. But people should be horrified by the fact that a predator can loudly claim to be one, because it’s a quick way to know whether your society has collapsed and largely left humanity behind… they do polls and lots of research before giving politicians their lines and speech limits, ya know. 🙃
A classic! It’s from 2016.
Doesn’t seem quite realistic. It should me more like:
“You will be eaten. Vote Wolf for protection.”
Depending on what part you focus on and how you interpret this, he tells it like it is and he flagrantly lies.
