I’m American and my firm belief is that Americans don’t actually exist, and we’re all coming to realize that now. America is too big with too many huge, fractured cultures. My dream is New England secedes, which will never happen.

What if they wage an ineffective war that still kills millions despite them losing because their delusional leader wants his name in the history books before he dies?

If Madami invites Vanilla Ice to perform the Ninja Rap he will become the most important politician in American history.

That’s it, we’re moving to Syria.
I agree with all of that in its entirety, the world was a much different and considerably smaller place.
To play devil’s advocate though, there is potential for the right person or persons to harness social media to draw historical attention to one. I don’t think this will happen, and it would turn into a giant mess of a media shitstorm, but it is an interesting idea to think about.

That’s a good question but there’s a lot of mythos behind it that I’d have to write a paper for.
An easy example is that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of Christianity and worshipped as God’s incarnation on Earth. Muslims and Jews categorically refute this in its entirety, meaning the only thing they share is the Abrahamic god.

No it sounds like a ballin hair metal band.
Our government is not as fun as a ballin hair metal band.
There are some pretty big ones that did work though. The Women’s Suffrage movement in the US successfully used a hunger strike to force Woodrow Wilson’s hand and he was put in a position where he had no choice but to cave to the movement.

That’s incorrect though. Catholics, Protestants, Methodists, etc are sects of Christianity, the broader body of the religion. Judaism and Islam are their own religions (albeit Abrahamic in origin), with Sunni/Shia being sects of Islam for example.

These ideas still work in smaller nations, but the idea of the American public toppling the US government in 2025 is absurd. Even if you ignore that we’re completely incapable of finding commons goals as a nation, you’re still being turned to pink mist by a drone while you’re waving your assault rifle you bought at Wal-Mart around on your front lawn.
And if you add in what I ommitted, its impossible. We can’t even get over half our population to stop supporting pedophilia, there’s no way they’re coming together for a revolution.
This would just turn into a years long, brutal, violent inaurgency with probably several civil wars occurring at the same time as fighting the government.

I’m at the point now that I say we just fucking go for it and elect even crazier people than Trump. We’re going down no matter what. Let’s just see how crazy shit can get. Let’s make Ezra Miller Secretary of Defense.

If you’re talking relative to objective political spectrum and not left and right in the sole context of American politics in a vacuum, you’re entirely right and I agree. Joe Biden would have been like a center-right wing politician in a lot of Europe.
But my point still stands. Irrespective of what either party actually is, he had the support of neither. Which is crazy considering he’ll be mayor of the largest city in the US.

YOU’LL NEVER CATCH ME ALIVE ICE

This made me laugh because I’m currently reading the expanse, and I’m worried one day it may be viewed as a prophecy…
That’s sort of the problem with… reality, man. Both you and this kid are right, life isn’t black and white and there are a lot moving parts.
You’re 100% right that nobody should be getting political information from social media. This kid stating that is showing his age. Social media is a cess pool to become politically informed.
But he’s also right that this sort of thing can be a slippery slope.

If this had come out a decade or two ago, we could have arranged international tournaments where veterans of WW2 played COD at like 90 years old against each other. It could have been an insensitive mess in regard to PTSD, and I’m not going anywhere with this as that just dawned on me while writing this, haha.

I feel like this guy is doomed to fail. He has the left and the right against him. He’s going to be ripped apart in the media, and the overwhelming majority of Americans will be indifferent to whether its true or not.

It’s been largely forgotten that the Russian invasion at the start was an absolute diaaster, and their entire armed forces literally broke down on a road for like a month. The entire Russian empire could have been knee capped for generations right there if just one nation had bombed that road.

To be fair, I would argue most people, especially younger people, are totally unaware that news outlets pick up articles from other papers and organizations like Reuters.
You can work a forty hour work week, live responsibly, pay all your bills and taxes on time, etc, and still be below the poverty line in America. You can have kids while financially stable and get hurt or sick. You could have kids and your spouse could die.
This is a foolish, uneducated comment.
