Sure. But it’s harder to ignore for the mod team who has worked closely with him for several years now and presumably don’t completely hate him. I’m not saying it’s a good reason, but that it may have factored into the disappointing non-action we saw.

Nah, I think Serinus’ reply to Eugene V. Debs’ Ghost that they posted elsewhere is hinting at what’s going on here. I think Jordan is doing a enormous amount of moderation work on World - his work as a mod seems to be a huge part of his identity at this point and the health issues he’s been open about seem to make it so he physically can’t do much so I would guess he spends most of his days modding. That’s a lot of volunteer labor (with 99% of his actions likely being entirely reasonable internet janitor stuff) and I think what happened is the rest of the LW mods took a hard look at what moderating without him would look like and they would have to expand the mod team a lot (which comes with it’s own significant issues and work vetting people). And it would be devastating to JL himself, and while I think he’s a terrible mod, I don’t hold much animosity towards him as a person.

I get why OP nuked his account, but the fact that JL’s defense of the transphobia got removed for transphobia is pretty hilarious, ngl. I called it out but didn’t report it, props to whoever did though.
