Who committed this change? Who acquiesced? I want their name known, so I can join a class-action suit against them, citing the Hatch Act.

If you’re being dismissive of the pattern and practice that Democratic politicians - particularly those in leadership positions of the party - in the US have by and large exhibited for well over two decades, you are simply not paying attention.
I am managing my expectations with the DNC and Schumer and Jeffries; those expectations have been on the floor for a good while now, and yet somehow they manage to occasionally dig a tunnel underneath so they can fail to meet them. I constantly hope that I’m wrong, but I’m generally not. I genuinely don’t believe meaningful political opposition will materialize until Schumer and Jeffries are out, and someone far more combative and staunchly opposed to fascism is in those leadership spots. I furthermore think that this demonstration of utter and consistent ineptitude and capitulation by Schumer and Jeffries (and Harris, tbh - after losing a winnable election to a fascist, anytime she says something recently, it’s just absolute 🤦♂️) - and the DNC establishment and consultant class in general - may in fact be the death knell of the Democratic Party - or at the very least, its current incarnation. And in my book, that’s a good thing, considering how anti-progressive the are, and how neoliberal and corporatist they’ve become.
It’s shaggadelic. Simple as.
When everything is a crime, nothing is
Interesting, thanks. And yeah, I too find it utterly baffling at how Intel is turning into a has-been before our eyes. They were The Chip Guys for ages, and then the fucking quants got put in charge and carved away so much of the engineering leadership and underpinnings that it’s a husk of what it was in the 80s and 90s.
I would, however, point out that TSMC’s whole deal is “define, and produce at scale, the bleeding edge of integrated circuit designs”, so the bit about them cribbing off of people hasn’t really been a variable in their equations for at least a couple decades. They have been major (arguably, the predominant) pioneers in chip lithography for a while now.
seems very dumb
Kinda the MO of this regime, if we’re being honest
Oh I know - but I’m saying they should halt efforts now, because they’ve been going on for several years (I think close to 4-5?) at this point.
I was also under the impression that Mainland was still meaningfully behind the cutting edge, that TSMC was absolutely not resting on their laurels, and that the prospect of the CCP fabs fully catching up isn’t super likely. Out of curiosity, do you have any references/articles about recent CSMCSMIC/etc lithography advancements?
Good. It was a naked attempt at a shakedown, and also 100% a bluff. TSMC honestly should cancel/rescind all the fab construction they’re starting to spin up in the US, honestly. Now is emphatically not the time to undermine their strategic defense policy, which largely revolves around “if the CCP invades, we will melt our chip fabs to slag”.
Shut the fuck up, Kennedy. You handed orangeboi an SC seat, and it looked a whole fucking lot like some sort of backroom deal to the people who were paying attention.
I’m honestly curious when people are gonna start actually ambushing and executing these ICEcubes, because they’re making it pretty obvious that they’re clear and present dangers to civil society, and generally enemies of perfectly normal and fully law abiding citizens (not to mention the vast majority of absolutely harmless undocumented immigrants that are being targeted as scapegoats).
It’s a horrific moment to see that people honestly believe that there’s no other alternative at this point than to resort to political violence.
I mean… is it? I think it’s pretty obvious in the context of the regime essentially giving itself carte blanch to perpetrate political violence on its desired scapegoats and opponents.
I’m frankly getting pretty fucking tired of people complaining about how this is a startling development and being shocked by what’s happening. They wrote a playbook back in 2019. They published it on the open internet. They said they would follow it. They are now following it. You are not allowed to be surprised by any of this.
It’s the same for anyone who works for Meta or MS or Google or Anduril or whatever these days: you look at your comp package that’s worth roughly half a million annually, and you say
They have been paying people to not have morals for quite a while now.
The checks are fraudulent and the balances have been tampered with
Any time I have a “superior” that insists tech debt isn’t a problem, I feel an incredibly strong compulsion to lock them in a room with a laptop and tell them to implement something extensibly and maintainably in our codebase, and that they won’t be let out or fed until they do.
And by “implement” I mean write the code and the tests and test automation.
And then they have to pass a code review, and write appropriate doc for any externally facing interfaces/apis/ui/etc.
We’d stop having stupid fucking opinions like that right goddamn quick if this policy were implemented.
I would absolutely not trust us to provide any protection, even IF they fold to the demand. The smart play here is to call the bluff. Because it is a bluff.
lol holy shit, seriously. Can you imagine? The market flooded with absolutely bonkers-tier GPUs. Makes me wanna hold onto my 3080FE for a while longer 😅
