We just think you’re bad at grilling, but don’t want to hurt your feelings.

Also. Ask every single person if they want cheese on their burger. All of them always will, but be sure to ask them anyway.

I mean, a burger should be well cooked anyway; it’s minced meat so it has bacteria in it that must be killed unlike normal meat cuts where killing the bacteria on the external layer is good enough

They should all be 165° for food safety’s sake when it comes to ground beef. You can play around with a steak’s temperature becuause any bacteria are on the surface and not ground into the meat, though that’s becoming less true with tenderizers being used on steaks.

    YMMV, of course.

Which is the correct answer. Maybe not Kraft but certainly American cheese.

‘american cheese’ is fine. it’s what most fast food joints and many restaurants use.

it’s the individually-wrapped ‘singles’ that is the abomination.

they are two distinctly different products.

As I understand it, it’s cheese melted with an emulsifying salt to make it able to be served hot without turning into a pile of curd and grease. I’d prefer real cheese like cheddar, but will admit that American cheese was made for the job.
