Gregory Bovino was called out by a judge only two days earlier for lying about being assaulted by a protester

A border patrol chief claimed on Saturday that his agents came under fire in Chicago while conducting immigration enforcement operations, just two days after a federal judge said that he had lied to her about having been struck by a rock during a previous confrontation with protesters in the city.

Gregory Bovino, the border patrol chief and frequent Fox News guest who has become the face of the Trump administration’s mass deportation efforts, said on social media that his agents had been “shot at”, and subjected to “vehicular assaults, physical assaults, impeding, violent mobs, vehicular blockades”, for a number of hours.

Multiple false reports as a citizen is instant prison time.

Multiple false reports for ICE? Nothing… no consequences at all. This judge should have locked him up.

Throw his lying ass in jail. He isn’t just some regular citizen, he has extraordinary power over force of government and must be held accountable.

So they took fire and didn’t pursue the shooter? They didn’t trace the jeep using their network of cameras and drones? They just, let em go?

Now I’m waiting for an A24 movie about the social implications of a world where people’s pants suddenly erupt in flames of the lie.

There was no spontaneous combustion in it, but you may be interested in Ricky Gervais’ The Invention of Lying. Not the best movie but worth a watch, especially if you like his style of humor.

That movie seemed to equate taking everything literally with being a moron. Like even the literal interactions came across as being stupid.

I get the feeling that Ricky is the kind of person who believes he is uniquely smart, or at least that everyone else is very stupid, and gets quietly offended about it if you challenge that idea.

It is safe to say at this point that any claims made by ICE or really anyone in Trump’s administration are lies unless accompanied by evidence.

That has been true since the beginning of Trump’s first term and the lying has only increased in severity.

Sort of. You used to be able to trust some people not to flat out lie for him, but now there’s no one in his orbit who will not just flat out make up lies. They don’t even care that they are easily proven to be lies either.

There was not reason to trust the people who didn’t flat out lie for him either, since they tended to be the weaseliest of weasels.

They are desperate for ANY reason for the go ahead on Martial law. A lie is good enough for these goons.

All these goons are armed; take a shot at any of them, and all of them will return fire, pursue the shooter, 24/7 stream the ever-present surveillance video on Fox News, etc. Without all that, without even any of that, it’s just another lie.
