After a certain period of time, especially for used vehicles, these lights are just there because they are set off due to timers and distance driven.

My mechanic, an old guy that has been working on my Volvo for years (a European car specialist who mainly works on Volvos) said to just ignore them. My old station wagon is 23 years old now and I have two permanent warning lights on all the time. My mechanic just said “does your car run?” … I said yes

“Do you have any problems with the car running?” … I said no

“Do the warning lights bother you?” … I said not really.

    “Then don’t worry about it”

I’ve been driving the car like that without problems for over five years.

  • Yeah … after many years of throwing away the package … I now carefully unwrap the package to not destroy the instructions (sometimes I even just snap a picture of it all if the design means I have to tear open everything) … then keep the package on the counter until after supper when everything is done.

And no matter how many times I’ve cooked the same type of prepackaged rice for the 100th time … I’ll still check to see how many minutes I’m supposed to boil the damned thing.

  • They are having a population crisis … an aging boomer generation that just won’t die and their many children who will add to the aging population while the generations after these groups had fewer children. The population is now full of old people with very few young Japanese to take care of them.

It won’t matter how nationalist they want to be … they’re stuck with the problem of having a huge aging population and far too few young people.

Whether they like it or not, if they want to maintain the country’s current level of development, they’re going to need young people from somewhere else to fill the gaps.
