I like to assume the best of people. I like to think that some people are putting on a role of being dumb because it pays. I like to assume that people I don’t know well enough are smarter than they appear to be. I do all this because being a cynic is depressing.

But sometimes, people go out of their way to dispel that charitable assumption.

Did she surprise them because they’re fucking idiots? Of course she’s one of them- she’s a fucking idiot.

Getting mar-a-lago face and scamming gullible idiots via a crypto scam, name the more iconic duo. If it turns out she’s a pedo, she will be an ideal candidate for like a secretary of education or something.

Tbh neither but telling public figures to stay in their lane is reductive. Better to foster a sense of encouragement to seek better perspectives imo.

Telling public figures to stay in their lane is not reductive. It is a shorthand for recognizing limits of expertise and influence. Having a voice doesnt make one intelligent.

Encouraging better perspectives is ideal, but it is not always effective when harm or misinformation is already happening. Clear boundaries sometimes need to come first before nuance can land.

I also recognize freedom of speech, which means both person X and I are free to run our mouths.

I say as someone that used to be on Stan Twitter, the Barbz wouldn’t care about it. Anyone who have slight criticism to her will get dogpilled and even doxx. It feels like a cult

Her husband is a convicted rapist, and her brother is in prison for child rape. She loudly defended both of them, so I imagine she feels right at home with this admin

TBF they have done a lot of studies on the general populace in the americas and they have shown that the everyday person (which I am sure is a lot of her fans) doesnt care about any of it, they are so done with the nonstop barrage of shit some of it huge but takes years to do anything, most of it is just nothing burgers trying to get headlines. They are weary and need help, and I think that seems to be part of the plan to makes sure those that could help swing things are so checked out they just recoil when any subjects of that matter are brought up.

That seems pretty accurate. I’m an American who would claim that they care more than the typical person and even I’m so fucking sick of it all. I’m completely resigned to the fact that AI is going to make all of our issues 100000x worse along with the media consolidation into the hands of right wing billionaires… Our so called justice system failed every check imagineable and is now in the hands of Trump cultists and our judiciary has been stacked with a rubber stamp majority for the next 30+ years. I have absolutely no faith for the future…

I think it’s pretty accurate. Go find a big fan and tell them what she did and let me know how they don’t care. I’ll wait…

I wasn’t “Barb” status but I liked her music enough to go to her concert.

All my downloads are deleted now though after this headline. I was already side eyeing her after she liked a tweet he made or whatever earlier this year.

No more watching her music vids or buying any future albums either. Had to do the same thing with Nova Rockafeller a couple years ago. God damnit.

No disagreement there. Ugh, I really wish us fans were more willing to send messages to the celebrities we like in general.

Unfollowing/deleting/refusing to buy new content is really the only power we have on our level.
