Its crazy to think about what an uncle ruckus Clarence Thomas is.

I mean, his nephews and nieces must for sure call this man Uncle Tom.

What a piece of shit this guy has to be to be married to a white woman, and be striking down marriage equality.

This title is all wrong. It’s not “Breaking” news. It’s not being considered. It’s a done deal and nobody will do anything about it. The only thing to decide is when they do it. I guess that is the breaking part, that maybe is mow.

I honestly don’t know why people are still harping on this. what’s even the point? I know he’s on the files, you know he’s on the files, everyone knows. so why? do people honestly, firmly, believe that releasing said files will be an a-ha moment that will lead to his impeachment? no of course not. It’s such a stupid thing to be concerned about. Democrats file motions of impeachment against this asshole on a nearly weekly basis and it goes no where. like what’s the point? oh THIS time it will? no it won’t. Guy ignores the courts on a routine basis.

Yeah the Yankees are always focusing on the big name superstars, and not putting enough effort into the fundamentals. They make too many errors, and they have unsuccessful results. It’s all about the money with them, there’s no real heart to them, and that’s why they lose.

Wait, we’re talking about baseball, right?

You speak as if all Americans are the same like a hive mind.

Ironically using such sweeping generalities makes you more aligned with the administration taking away our freedoms.

Wait until Clarence Thomas comes home from work to his bulldog wife, and tell her that their marriage is officially null and void.

Then there will be a new opening on the Supreme Court.

I will laugh so fucking hard if America bends over while that happens. To be clear I bet they will but I hope I’m wrong and they finally grow a spine.

Who would’ve thought having a partisan executive appoint a partisan judge and by approved by a partisan congress would result in a partisan Supreme Court! My vote is for using a system similar to Tennessee’s State Supreme Court. A commission of judges nominate a short list of candidates -> the governor appoints from the list -> after a year, there is a popular election on whether the judge should retain their seat.
For the Supreme Court, I’d modify it to: every federal judge elects the short list with Single Transferable Voting or Approval Voting -> President appoints one -> after a year, the populous has a retention vote. Also limited and staggered terms so appointments are distributed evenly across presidencies; must pass a background check & audit; criminal & civil convictions have mandatory prison time and fines are based off percentage of wealth.

Of course neither party (and definitely not the oligarchs) are going to push for systemic changes that could curb their power, so we all need to be united with a General Strike. In the past these have lasted a few days to about a month; I expect making the constitutional changes needed to save our democracy will take longer and meet greater resistance, so Mutual Aid Networks will be crucial to support the strikers and keep essential services running. You can start by plugging in with the ones in your community, they are already everywhere.

Well, Trump has taught us that you can ignore the Supreme Court if your party controls Congress. So if there ever is another Democrat president with Democrat control of Congress, just revert all this and ignore whatever the SC says.

We should only be elevating Democrats who make it clear they are ready to play hardball.
